EcoMasters competition – be Eco, win prizes!

Published by Luiza on

The ekoMasters competition for the most interesting pro-environmental initiatives of the academic community has been launched. The prize pool is PLN 7 000, and applications can be sent in until 23 October. This is the fourth edition of the competition, organised by the Foundation for Quality Education, which has been supporting educational activities in higher education for years.

The competition is open to male and female students and PhD students from Polish universities, working in teams of two to six people. Their task is to develop a project – from an opinion, to an analysis, to a scientific study or an investment cost estimate – that has an impact on environmental protection.
The aim of the competition is to inspire the academic community to make pro-environmental changes at universities and reduce the negative impact of existing activities on the environment.
Prizes await the winners:

  • 1st place – PLN 2500,
  • 2nd place – PLN 1500,
  • Third place – PLN 1,000,
  • The Internauts’ Award – PLN 2000.
A novelty of the fourth edition of the competition is the awarding of the prize by the academic community through online voting. The deadline for applications is 23 October 2024. Projects can be submitted via the Application Form at www.ekomasters.fjk.org.pl.
The public task is co-financed by the Minister of Science.

About the Foundation for Quality Education:

The Foundation for Quality of Education (FJK) has been working to support teaching processes at Polish universities for 12 years. The Foundation has been building the Quality of Education Portal for 4 years, where it has already collected 160 good teaching practices that are a source of inspiration for all parties involved in higher education. It organises the ‘Student Teaching Initiatives’ competition. FJK is also involved in environmental projects. Among other things, the Foundation has created ecological standards for the organisation of events at universities. The organisation was established in 2012 on the initiative of Prof. Katarzyna Chałasińska-Macukow, then Chairwoman of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland (CRASP).
