A thousand lakes and a million opportunities
Nestled deep in the beautiful lake district of North Poland, lies the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, a stimulating union of a dynamic, modern city, a beautiful lakeside campus and a thriving academic environment.
UWM in Olsztyn is an internationally renowned centre of excellence, the heart of which is a dedicated, multi-national family of students, researchers and teaching staff who strive to extend their knowledge, gain new insights and rise to meet the challenges of today’s rapidly changing world.
The university is home to sixteen faculties which embrace a widening array of international disciplines, providing both degree courses and research possibilities.
Research fields at UWM are based in three thematic disciplines: Humanities and Social Sciences; Science, Engineering and Technology; Medical Sciences. These include post-graduate, doctoral and post-doctoral research positions.
Doctoral research includes training at the University’s own Doctoral School, sponsored and run by UWM, to give doctoral candidates a thorough grounding in the academic skills required in undertaking their doctoral studies.
The Doctoral School aims to train doctoral researchers both as future scientists and as scientifically trained professionals. The core of the doctoral training is, of course, research, yet every candidate or researcher knows this needs to be supported by knowledge and skills of the academic world. In order for doctoral researchers to be employable in a broad range of high qualified positions, transferable skills are a necessary part of the doctoral training programme. In addition to training and development through research practice, doctoral researchers also follow more formal training via seminars, workshops, summer schools and other course components, exploring such fields as presentation, writing academic articles and proposals.
UWM is not just a collection of buildings- we feel the success of the university, our university is the family like atmosphere amongst its students, researchers and staff. Your success is our success, your future is our future. Why not join us and be part of our team, our family?
