On 29th–30th April 2025, we had the pleasure of hosting Professor Diana Kalibatienė from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH, Lithuania) at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. The visit was part of the InTraDo project, funded by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) under the STER Programme – Internationalisation of Doctoral Schools.

Professor Kalibatienė conducted a series of workshops titled “Autonomous Systems and Software Programs in Science (Part 2)”, dedicated to doctoral candidates from the Doctoral School. The workshops took place at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science and attracted great interest from participants representing various scientific disciplines.

During the sessions, participants explored topics such as autonomous systems, software development in the context of scientific research, ontology-based approaches, business rule modeling, multi-criteria decision-making methods, and the application of fuzzy logic in research. The meetings were highly interactive, encouraging active discussion, analysis of real-world examples, and practical questions about applying these methods in participants’ own research.

The visit of Professor Kalibatienė was also an opportunity to exchange experiences in doctoral education, strengthen international cooperation, and support the development of interdisciplinary competencies. Meeting such a distinguished expert in informatics engineering significantly enriched the educational offer of the Doctoral School.
