Visit of Prof. Costin Chiru from the University Politehnica of Bucharest to the Doctoral School of the University of Warmia and Mazury

On 19th–20th May, 2025, we had the pleasure of hosting Professor Costin Chiru from the University Politehnica of Bucharest (Romania) at the Doctoral School of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. The visit took place within the framework of the InTraDo project, financed by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) under the STER Programme – Internationalisation of Doctoral Schools.

Prof. Chiru conducted the third part of the workshop series titled “Autonomous Systems and Software Programs in Science”, which was held at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science. The sessions took place in Lecture Hall C1 (19th May) and Lecture Hall D0/9A (20th May), gathering PhD students interested in the interdisciplinary use of autonomous systems and software tools in scientific research.

The workshops, led by Prof. Chiru, were distinguished by their high academic level and practical focus. Participants had the opportunity to explore modern methods for analyzing and modeling intelligent systems, as well as tools supporting research in computing environments. The sessions also included open discussions and one-on-one consultations.

The visit of Prof. Chiru marked another important milestone in the internationalization efforts of the UWM Doctoral School and provided an excellent opportunity for doctoral students to develop their research competencies in an international academic setting.
