Research interests / offered topics
- Pediatric maxillofacial and craniofacial surgery, congenital craniofacial anomalies, facial asymmetry, temporomandibular joint disorders and reconstruction, orthognathic surgery in complex craniofacial deformities, virtual surgical planning, CAD/CAM technologies, patient-specific implants and three-dimensional outcome analysis.
- Microsurgical reconstruction of the head and neck in children and adults, oncologic and post-traumatic craniofacial reconstruction, assessment of functional, aesthetic and quality-of-life outcomes after reconstructive surgery, and the development of clinical registries and multicenter outcome studies in maxillofacial surgery.
- Potential doctoral projects may include: three-dimensional assessment of facial symmetry after craniofacial reconstruction; accuracy of virtual surgical planning in orthognathic and reconstructive surgery; long-term outcomes of temporomandibular joint reconstruction; perioperative factors affecting free flap survival in pediatric head and neck reconstruction; and clinical applications of patient-specific implants in craniofacial surgery.

Yes — the Department provides access to clinical data, imaging studies, surgical planning workflows and interdisciplinary cooperation with radiology, orthodontics, anesthesiology, oncology, microsurgery and rehabilitation teams. Research may include retrospective and prospective clinical analyses, three-dimensional imaging assessment, functional and aesthetic outcome evaluation, quality-of-life assessment and multicenter collaborative studies.
Additional information
The proposed doctoral projects will be based on clinical material and research experience in pediatric maxillofacial and craniofacial surgery, reconstructive surgery, temporomandibular joint surgery, orthognathic surgery, virtual surgical planning, CAD/CAM technologies and patient-specific implants. The candidate will have the opportunity to participate in retrospective and prospective clinical studies, 3D imaging analysis, outcome assessment, registry-based research and multicenter scientific collaboration.
