Temitope Francis Becomes ChallengeEU Ambassador
A first-year PhD student has been selected as one of four ambassadors promoting the European university alliance that includes the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn.
Mr. Temitope Desmond Francis is a PhD student at the Department of Social Communication and Media at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. His research focuses on media studies, with particular emphasis on disinformation, social media, public relations, and cultural representation. Temitope already has some intercultural experience, including in other European countries. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Communication and Language Arts from the University of Ibadan (Nigeria), specializing in journalism and media. He received his master’s degree in Communication Sciences (specialization: communication and advertising) from the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration in Bucharest (Romania). In 2023, he also studied at Panteion University in Athens (Greece) through the Erasmus exchange program.
ChallengeEU is an alliance of nine European universities that have joined forces to enhance the quality of higher education. The consortium consists of the following institutions: Hochschule Offenburg (Germany, project leader), South East European University (North Macedonia), ECAM LaSalle (France), Mid Sweden University (Sweden), Universidade Europeia (Portugal), Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (Latvia), Universidad Europea de Valencia (Spain), Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz FHNW (Switzerland, associate partner), and the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn (Poland).
As a project ambassador, Temitope will promote the alliance’s ideas and initiatives on social media, as well as participate in international ChallengeEU community meetings. This will not be his first contribution to UWM—he is already a member of the team responsible for managing the social media presence of the UWM Doctoral School.
