We cordially invite you to the second edition of the workshop titled “Challenges of Applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Research Activities”, which will take place on 10th April, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Stara Kotłownia, Room 2A.
The workshop will be led by Professor Wojciech Czakon, a professor of economic sciences at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. Professor Czakon is an esteemed academic with teaching experience at technical and economic universities in Poland, as well as in Belgium, Italy, and France.
Workshop Objectives
Artificial intelligence is becoming an integral part of modern science. The workshop aims not only to present the current capabilities of AI technologies in academic work but also to critically reflect on the challenges their use brings—both from a technical and ethical standpoint.
Workshop Program
? Panel 1: Artificial Intelligence in Research – Available Models and Applications
An introduction to the available AI models and applications in research. Presentation of a framework for assessing the challenges associated with their use.
? Panel 2: ChatGPT, Scite AI, Perplexity – Applications, Limits, and Issues
Development of skills in using AI tools to support academic writing and literature analysis. Discussion of limitations, ethical issues, regulations, and research integrity.
? Panel 3: ChatDoc, Scite AI, Perplexity – Productivity Improvement
Training in the use of AI to enhance research productivity. Evaluation of benefits and potential risks.
The event is organized as part of the InTraDo project, funded by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) under the STER Program – Internationalisation of Doctoral Schools, Task 6.
