From November 15 to December 15, Mr. Mateusz Czyrzniak had the opportunity to participate in a research internship in Barcelona, carried out as part of the „International Doctoral Mobility” program. The internship took place at the Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC) and was closely related to his doctoral research, which focuses on supporting the inventory process of technical infrastructure using modern measurement techniques and artificial intelligence algorithms.

The main goal of the internship was to gain practical experience in the implementation and optimization of artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms. As part of the program, the doctoral student worked as an AI researcher, focusing on training a deep learning model for classifying active areas of terrain deformation. The model analyzed data obtained from satellite radar systems, enabling more precise predictions of changes in terrain structure.

During the internship, the doctoral student carried out the following tasks:
Preparing satellite data for model training
Implementing and training the deep learning model
Optimizing the model by selecting appropriate hyperparameters
Validating results and analyzing prediction accuracy

Participation in the program allowed the doctoral student to expand his knowledge in key areas:
? Deep learning – gained experience in designing model architectures and adapting them to the specificity of the analyzed data
? Model optimization – learned advanced techniques for improving classification accuracy
? Radar data processing – acquired practical skills in analyzing satellite data
? Teamwork – collaboration with an international research team enabled him to develop skills in knowledge exchange and project-based work

The internship at CTTC was an invaluable experience for Mr. Mateusz Czyrzniak, allowing him to grow both scientifically and practically. The opportunity to work in an international research environment enabled him to acquire new skills that will undoubtedly contribute to his doctoral project and future academic career.
